Our Team
The Royal Standard is run by a voluntary team of Artist Leads. They are responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of our studios, as well as programming for exhibitions and events.
Artist Leads volunteer for the TRS on a rolling term of two years. This allows new, young artists to take ownership of the organisation, enabling fresh energy and new ideas. The Artist Lead role is seen as an intense period of development for young artists and arts professionals, providing them with the practical skills needed to build a career in the arts.
The Royal Standard has been built from the hard work and commitment of Liverpool’s artists who have gone on to lead successful careers in the arts as curators, writers, producers and renowned artists. The Royal Standard has equipped them with the practical skills necessary to play leading roles in organising and producing work for national and international institutions.
