DYSPLA, with the support of Arts Council England, has curated a collection of digital artworks and VR films by world-renowned Neurodivergent Artists, showcasing a range of content intended to inspire reflection on a “new” artistic concept — the Neurodivergent Aesthetics and its Heritage.
A new term used by DYSPLA since 2017 to illustrate how those who see, think and experience the world differently from the subjective norms, create unpredictable stories and tell them in nonlinear ways.
Creatives such as; Pablo Picasso, Agatha Christie, Steve McQueen, Quentin Tarantino, Antony Gormley, and Steven Spielberg are just a few artists on an endless list that all have neurodivergence in common.
DYSPLA investigates this unique concept of the Neurodivergent Aesthetic— a concept still very much under-represented or fully understood, by involving a mix of artists working in various digital formats. DYSPLA believes this is the beginning of explaining their genius.
The DYSPLA VR & AR exhibition premiered at the Mayor of London's Liberty Festival in Lewisham last July and went on to win further Arts Council England funding to tour across England.
On Saturday 20th May at 2 pm there will also be an Artists' Talk where DYSPLA Founder Lennie Varvarides and Creative Director Kazimir Bielecki will discuss their understanding of the Neurodivergent Aesthetic.
