Our Mission

To make Liverpool a great place for artists to practice.

Liverpool is already a great city for creatives, but we want to make it an even better place for multi-disciplinary artists to produce, collaborate, exhibit and work together. Throughout our work, our ambition is to create a space which nurtures emerging artists and giving them a helping hand when starting out in their careers as artists or producers. We also want to connect the public with artists; making The Royal Standard an open space where the local community can come to engage with artists.

Act as a platform for regional artists and new graduates on a national and international level.

We want to highlight outstanding contemporary art that is being produced in Liverpool by emerging artists and graduates to help them gain recognition for their work. We will utilise our connections with artist-led organisations nationally to champion artists and ensure our work addresses their needs, aiming for international connections in the future.

Work with partners to achieve our mission.

Working with others to make Liverpool a great place to practice is key to our mission. In the past, we have worked with a number of partners in Liverpool and beyond, including Bluecoat, Liverpool Biennial, a-n, New Contemporaries, homotopia, dyspla, Newbridge Projects, Liverpool John Moores University, and The Double Negative. We have also worked with community organisations including Refugee Women Connect, Blue Room and WHISC.
