Presented as part of the Knowsley Flower Show, Gestural Eating transformed a long communal table into both dining space and canvas. A large linen tablecloth became the surface for eating, sharing, and creating together.
Food was served directly onto the table, and participants were given “bread forks” – playful tools made of bread – to dip, scoop, and taste. Each gesture left behind a trace: stains, smears, and marks that turned the tablecloth into a living record of the meal.
Children especially embraced the experience, often trying foods they might refuse at home. The simple act of eating became something adventurous, tactile, and joyful – a reminder that food can spark creativity as well as nourish.
On this page, you can see the tablecloth itself, carrying the imprints of collective eating and the lively energy of the day.It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
